Cheyne, That lawn looks great. It looks like a florida golf club. I wonder who cut it? Very Happy

Did anyone notice the front bumpers?

Many of the karts have damaged front bumpers.

Why is this?

TaG had a pretty hard time getting started. I think they had 3 or 4 wave offs before they were turned loose and then only made it to corner 2 before the red came out. I expect a little carnage on a short track with 30+ drivers all wanting to win. Like Jason said this isn't club racing.

Fleming came up with the politically correct term for this new type of racing...."Kart Wrestling"!

I just don't see this as racing but more of survival contest almost like the NASCAR plate races since you know the "big one" is going to happen and in kart racing its the on the first lap in the first couple of turns. If you can bump and run you have a chance of doing well until your pay back comes, then the parents get involved.

Whatever happened to clean passes or is there such a thing anymore?

It does make for good entertainment though! Smile

Just because there are some smashed in bumpers doesn't mean that everyone is just wrecking each other. It happens, but it isn't always the case. Plenty of clean racing goes on too.

Yea, I agree with TJ. Starts scuff up the nosecones a lot, and especially at a track like South Bend (with an incredibly tight turn 1 and turn 2) bumping is inevitable.

While I was watching the races on Sunday, almost all the passes were incredibly clean, especially the senior classes. It was great to watch.

Pretty gentle words from someone who was hit from behind on the start hard enough to bend a hard axle and end his race. The Tag carnage is just the Tag class, I didn't see it as any worse than usual, which isn't saying much.

The starting strategy seemed to be put your foot to the floor in the monza corner and hope for the best. Very Happy

Mike,

Did you watch any of the live video from South Bend? If so you would see it was really only the TAG class that was bad. The rest were pretty good. And I saw alot of great clean passes.

Gary and all,

Sorry for making an opinion based on a few photo's of 1 class.

I did try to watch some of live video but I only have DSL lite which I guess is not fast enough. Maybe if I wasn't so tight with the $ I would get a faster DSL but in these tough economic times every $ needs be saved.
