Wow, gotta give it up to Cory Pollock.....kid is a beast and has my vote for driver of the year. I was at Shawno and saw his drive in the Senior final in the rain (amazing), he was almost flawless against arguably the deepest field/class ever at Supernationals and shows up to this race and impresses again. Stepped up big time at what could be considered the 3 most prestigious races.....congrats Cory.

BTW, this comes with none of the typical bias.....never even met the kid, just ultra impressed.

Brian,

It was warm last night, some people can handle colder temperatures. You need to come up to NCMP and run the ROBOPONG 200 in October and bring your long johns. Practice in the morning is around 40 degrees. I have been there.

Chris,

Please quote correctly please what Ky Boe stated. I did not state what you are highlighted as my quote. Thanks.

Ky,

Even with great lighting there are so many shadows on a track during night racing it is like trying to pick out a needle in a haystack. Just a freak happening.

Guys go to the race in lieu of complaining about what happened. It was a battle between all the karts each lap. There is so much happening you cannot keep track of it all. It is just like Bristol weekend, just constant happenings.

I just got home from the race and it was great. I got the chance to tune for Jan Heylen and it was alot of fun. It was great to tune for a driver that knows what a kart needs or is in need of. I learned things that will help with future set ups. If any of you tuners or "wrenchers" get the chance to work with one of these talented drivers, I would suggest you do so.
I liked the fast paced "not alot of testing" mode also. It was figure it out quick or pack it in.

Noticed some GoPro's on the karts. Anyone uploading videos soon?

Have the finals from Jen Williams, Wes Phillips and Alex Tagliani - will try to get them uploaded when I get home. Just got done watching Wes's video in fact and it was almost as fun as watching him live. He was awesome on track in both the pre-final and final. In the final he drove from 10th to the front and would have easily had a top three at least if he hadn't been run over with a lap to go.

Checked Jen's video too and she was behind the turn one accident so there are two interesting perspectives. Still feel bad for Wes - he earned a shot at the Masters by passing everyone and everything in sight. He deserved a slot.

Well I made it back to Indy intact, there were a ton of people there watching in the stands, walking around, asking questions and it was definitely a great promotional event for karting.

The second annual PRI slamfest is over and WOW!

This event is in the face of all you leotard wearin’, “but it’s not a proper race” sayin’, no bumpin’, whinin’, girly girls who complain about kart racing not getting its due. Hey, if you would rather race at Infineon on a proper track I understand. But don’t expect anyone other than your Grandma to show up to watch. And she would probably rather watch Dancing with the Stars than go to your boring ass race.

We live in a world of cell phones, ipods, youtube, almost real video games, motorcycles doing double back flips, and on and on…. Frankly, I have only seen a couple truly awesome kart races on a real track and they were only cool because I lived in that world. On the other hand, a PRI type event could keep even your Ritalin pumped ADD little brother bug eyed with anticipation. The late Hollis Brown had it figured out fifteen years ago. The Laughlin Grand Prix was almost a spitting image of the PRI show. 80 guys would show up for 40 spots, if you didn’t qualify, well sorry about your luck. And he paid cash money. His races were all about taking the track to the people, pushing shoving, bumping and putting on a show. Jim Murley talked about the traveling circus going to county fairs and shopping malls and never pulled it off. I have had conversations with Zalud about the same thing. It’s just hard to get out the rut of doing the safe thing. The same thing. Year after freakin’ year.

Come on PZ! Wrap it up, put a bow on it, and take it to the streets. I might even leave the safety of my double wide and hit the road again.

I must say that Cory Pollock is one of those drivers who has the talent to do what ever takes to win.

As the quote states.... He's like a Mad Dog looking for FOOD......

Great job Cory, Shawano, Super Nats, PRI. sorry we couldn't make the Super Nats... We always like to race against you....

Just got home from florida long week...

This was great event the tent with all the drivers was packed with spectators yes spectators at a kart race. They were also lined up 5 deep around the track and there were 6 grand stands full of people.

I had the privalage of hanging out with Tagliani Pappis and Almadinger all week these guys all put in a serious effort to run this event and they were not afraid to get right in there and work hats off to you guys.

AJ I know your a little POed after that last lap deal but you still were awesome.

As for Wess awesome job I know the results didnt come but the effort was 100 %.

As for My driver Cory Pollock let me tell you a story...

Corys mom sends me and MRP an e mail about a week before the event.

Marc Miller and MRP bent over backwords to get Cory in the Race and I have to thank them for that.

Corys motor after the super nats was still in pieces so that had to be prepaired, packed all his stuff put it on a plane ship it to florida build a kart from the ground up last week at Anderson Raceway Park while attending to 30 Birel Customers at our dealer 09 showcase event.

This kid deserves something we just have to fugure out what....

Oh and BTW for all the MUDSLINGERS, we didnt let Cory ware his new suit until the main so it was nice and pretty for the pictures.

So thats is awesome event great energy thanks Stars..
