Just for the record my suit was as clean as it gets when I started but after working on my own kart for 6 days, I don't have mechanic, it gets pretty dirty. A new Birel suit costs 598.00...I was just happy to even race the super nats.

Anyone listen to the interview with Wheldon?
It's great to hear a driver that wants to promote karting.
Good Job Tim on the interview.

I doubt Thonon (or Ardigo, Kozlinski etc. for that matter) had to purchase the race suit he was wearing on the podium. |
Plus the fact they probably have 3 or 4 suits doesn't hurt either.

I think there's a rule in the CIK for their major events; drivers need to have at least two race suits, one for the podium ceremony.
If that rule still exists, maybe it applied to the SuperPros since they were under CIK-sanction? _________________ C. Skowron

Question for the Fathers with young kids that raced the event... How the H$ll do you get away from the family for 10 days? I really want to race this event next year but will most likely need to drive from Minnesota which would make it like a 11 day event. My kids will be 3 and 1 so taking them is not an option.
I need for formulate a very good game plan starting today. |

Dont forget the Mothers and Fathers who worked the event. I was away from Monday-Monday with a 5 year old son at home.
We had nightly webcam chats on the computer which is a lot different than just talking on the phone. But there were a few late nights where I had to chat via phone from the track.
Thats part of the reason that the event was shortened to 4 days from 5. But in the end, I think we all agree that 1 less day wasn't worth it. |

I'm with you there Keith. I am a single dad of 2 and I do well to get away for a long weekend for a regional race. Grandma is good for that, but not sure if she will go for the whole 11 day stint that I am planning for next year. Now, My kids are older than yours so next year will prob. not be an issue like yours.
I am looking forward to the 2009 supernats. And I will take it no matter what the rules for black flags, or the other arguments that have come out of the week this year. I will be happy just to have a shot at the biggest race in North America. If anyone wants to become an advertizing partner in my adventure next year, don't hesitate to contact me as soon as possible. No, matter the outcome, I can promise you that your product will get noticed and promoted. _________________ Shut up and Drive !!!!

My kids are 3 and 4.
It starts out in January with a calendar and a marker. Shoot for all the races you want. Give up some of the less important ones...lose the battle...win the war
Or pay someone to haul your karts out there, fly in on wednesday fly out sunday night.
My suit is black and has not been washed all year...just dont smell my lucky socks. _________________ Like a fat kid playing dodge ball. |

Did someone take your football, Doug?
How many times have you been told not to throw it around on the grid? _________________ Shut up and Drive !!!!

The EKN crew would like to thank all those who clicked on to EKN and those behind the scenes who made the event one for the history books.

HAHHA this reminds me of my first RotaxMax win. I couldnt AFFORD A SUIT. period. I borrowed a friend of mine (Eriks) and used my motorcycle helmet that i used everyday on the street.
a suit and a helmet woud have put me back at least 3-4 sets of tires.. which I needed more |

Hi Jason, we are working on photos and article for that event as well.
Racing wise, I think I proved to be the fastest EKN employee...too bad I'm the ONLY EKN employee. We had a blast and can't wait for the next one. _________________ David Cole
