Here is a twin cam version of the WKA Oct '08 National road race, two of us had helmet cams so I integrated them together into the video and synchronized them from the start. After about 8 laps or so they get a few seconds out of sync due to one camera recording 30.00 frames per second and the other recording 29.97 frames per second.

I also integrated the MyChron 4 data into a real time speedometer and tachometer, still working on the EGT data.

My camera ran out of tape two minutes prior to the photo finish of four karts crossing the finish line..... Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Enjoy! Very Happy

350MB WMV file.....

BTW, there were 8 DD2s that started and finished this race, averaging 90mph for the entire 30 minutes.... Cool

The sync is awesome......Stay in the draft man on the start/finish straight then sneak under them on the right hander Cool

What are the lap times of a FR125 vs. the DD2? Makes me want to go race today in sunny Michigan!!

Emmo,

You can't handle road racing!

The laptimes in a DD-2 are slightly faster, IF YOU FORCE the FR125 guys to running a standard sprint seat like the DD-2's run. Most of the time though, they must run a lay-down/sprint seat to stay competitive with the Sonik's and modified Leopards...

Hey Thom,

That's fantastic Exclamation Exclamation Exclamation

That's road racing at it's finest. No bump drafting, excellent hand signals and working together. I'm a sprint racer and I'm very impressed. Looks like a lot of fun with a 90 mph lap average (80 - 100 mph). Comes down to being smooooooth, maintaining momentum and timing your draft passing.

I'd love to try it sometime with my Stock Honda!!! The closest we get to road racing here in SoCal is at Streets of Willow (1.8 miles). If you run the track backwards (CCW) I understand that the Stock Hondas can push close to 120 mph in the draft going downhill on the front straight.

Ken, you would absolutely love it in a stock Honda! Cool

The Roebling Road track is basically a WOT track with zero braking or shifting for DD2s and sustained G-Force of 3.0-3.5 G's for up to 10-12 seconds around some of the corners (that puts a hurting on your body, sometimes I am black and blue under the arms, but I always come back for more).

During this race, there were 8 Rotax DD2s and RM1s out on the track.

My game was mostly to hang tight and film my friends and maybe beat them while I was at it. I had my four dogs locked up in the RV so didn't want to risk taking an excursion into the grass....four of us did cross the finish line within 0.2 seconds of each other after 30 minutes of duking it out.

Thirty minutes at 90mph takes allot of physical and mental endurance to get to the weigh scales, but it is damn sure close to the maximum amount of fun I can have without waking up in jail!!! Laughing

Nick,

I have moonlighted as a road racer now for awhile. Hell I've even have trophies to prove I can run in the top 3 with the TAG boys in Heavy! I love the fact we can go from Sprint to RR with a switch over in less than one hour. Bruce and I have run RR on Saturday and then shoot down to MRP on Sunday. Now I just need to spend the $$$ to run at Daytona with the FWB to keep WKA happy...... Twisted Evil

Or you could just fly down and rent a DD-2 for the weekend!!! Your choice! It takes less than five minutes to switch from Sprint to Road Race in a DD-2!
