...and it's making go karters as a group, look like a bunch of dicks. People from all walks of life and all ages read this forum. Allowing the Lounge area to degenerate into a cesspool of political lies and personal insults just doesn't seem like a good idea.

Tell it to your republican friends who have started 90% of these threads. The lies you refer to seem to coming from the right side of the forum. Censorship is un American Tim and besides I think the topics probably bore the kids who click on here. I wouldn't worry about the kids picking up name calling. In fact, I think they invented it. If they didn't know the word "Dick" we have you to thank for teaching it them.

Tim, just because you are a republican and disagree with what I say is no reason to make an attempt to silent me or anyone who agrees with me. If I were a kid reading a karting forum, a political thread is the last thing I would click on. So there is no reason to "play the kid card." I've been to the track. I hear the parents. Maybe the language at your track is pure as the driven snow. I don't know. Thanks for the kind words about my insightfulness. If I didn't know any better I'd think you were being sarcastic.

Tom,
I'm a Conservative, not a Republican (sadly this isn't the same anymore), and I don't disagree with you on everything (probably less than you think). And I'm not trying to silence your opinions or words. I was only asking for some personal restraint by all involved. I wasn't playing the "kid card", that would be silly. Kids are far worse in most cases when it comes to foul language, etc. I was only hoping that the tone of this forum would be slightly more welcoming to newcomers if they didn't step into a political war. Evidently I'm the only one that feels this way, so forget it. Fire away. Let this just be one more media outlet where we get bombarded.
And by the way, why is it that when I suggest personal restraint by all parties, I'm accused of censorship and being un-American; when the 90% of the media outlets in this country censor on behalf of the liberals every day, yet they are not un-American, they are somehow called heros?
Oh, and thanks for pointing out my spelling error earlier. I'll fix it.
