I just received information that a proposed superspeedway wil be built in the BIG LAKE area of Minn. From the diagram it does not list size nor interior road course or any type of kart track.Does any one know anything about this project??? _________________ Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways totally worn out, shouting, "Holy **** what a ride!!!". |

Todd : Thanks for the Link. It appears that some people do not want it there. The biggest issue is that I do not feel that the developer will ever get a cup race if it is built . Look what happened to KENYUCKY MOTOR SPEEDWAY Unless your last name is Smith or France it just ain't going to happen.Plus the fact that the TWIN-CITIES are not considered Major Markets. The best they could hope for would be a Grand National , Truck, ARCA and INDY car event.Same as Kentucky. With-out the Cup date it would make for a very shaky bottom line at end of the year. _________________ Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways totally worn out, shouting, "Holy **** what a ride!!!". |

I'm over super speedways. While they may be fun to drive, the races get a little boring. Richmond is as about as exciting as it gets. Close racing, the stands are always full and you can see the entire track from any seat. At California Speedway, you watch the cars go by the stands, they go out of sight and then you wait for them to come back around. I can imagine Daytona and Talladega are as equally exciting.
Of course I read the article after I post. A mile is a good length. I still say smaller though. _________________ Sex is like pizza. When it's good it's great and when it's bad, it's still pretty good. |

TomJ. I have to agree with your point about Richmond .Daytona and Talledaga do have some blind spots I have been to california twice ,I am not likely to return. Unfortuneatly most track developers never give much forsight as to what buildings will be put inside track area after completion. Not that I am a big proponent of the place but Kentucky Speedway 1 1/2 mile mile did get it right by dropping the infield 15 ft prior to construction. Even the lowest row seating has a clear view of entire track .I hope they would consider that option when and if they proceed with the project in Minn. _________________ Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways totally worn out, shouting, "Holy **** what a ride!!!". |

Jeffory M. The real answer is YES we would show up .Would I personally be driving . I WOULD like to tell you YES but my wife will differ with you. I would love to go out and do a few practice laps. As far as competition goes with my health issues If I was to last 30 minutes I would have to have para-medics standing by to revive me.as I pull into tech inspection. So I will leave the driving to the YOUNG BUCKS!!! you know the guy's 55 and under!!
I hope I did not offend you. Long live Roebling Road _________________ Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways totally worn out, shouting, "Holy **** what a ride!!!". |

Todd: Thanks for the additional info. Let us know if there is any additional information about it . From the look of the plans I do not see any type road course there. _________________ Life's journey is not to arrive at the grave safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways totally worn out, shouting, "Holy **** what a ride!!!". |
