Good morning everyone. The first round of practice is underway under the clear and sunny skies of Rock Island. Each class will have two practice sessions before qualifying will begin 2pm ET (1pm local).

RaceFanRadio.com will go live at 1:30pm ET (12:30pm local). Remember, we'll have the top-ten in qualifying posted here on the forums as they sit in the scale line.

Good morning, race fans -

The first round of practice is now in the books and the second round is working it's way to the end. I had a chance to briefly chat with a couple of drivers regarding the barrier positioning this year and they were fairly pleased. Brian Jacobsen told me that there is a fair amount of 'run-out' at the exit of the corners. Johnny Johnson did say that they tightened up the left-hand turn five, bringing in the barriers on both sides. This has helped move the line out a little, taking the well-known apex bump out of play a little. We'll get more feedback on the track layout as the day goes on.

Brian was working pretty hard last night as they could not get his engine started as they were finishing final prep. A weak battery was eventually discovered as the culprit and he should be good to go for today.
