|
|
One weekend down, one to go for the opening rounds of the 2008 Florida Winter Tour. Last weekend, the Rotax group had records numbers and tough racing through the three day event. Returning back to the Homestead Karting facility in Southern Florida, the CIK/Shifter/TaG classes will kick off their 2008 season. This weekend will also mark the debut of the KF engines in North America.
As per EKN's Winter Coverage, we have provided the discussion thread for the event. With the help of the FWT staff and the many competitors, they will be able to post updates throughout the weekend. We will have an overall preview of the event Friday along with results and race report following the weekend. _________________ David Cole

Hi Scott,
The whole story is:
2 weeks ago we had 6 in each KF class. At that time we also had 4 ICA.
I sent out an email to notify everyone and we had some guys leave to go JICA, ICC and Spec.
On Thursday morning we had 3 in each class ( ICA, KF2, KF3).
On Thursday afternoon we had 1 KF2 and 2 KF3's. No ICA. 27 JICA.
As of right now we have 3 KF2 and 4 KF3. No ICA. 30 JICA.
If everyone who was registered in KF had stayed, and if the new people had joined, we would have had 8 in KF2 and 9 in KF3.
I still say by Ocala we'll have 10-15 in each KF class.
These things are fast. Lot's of torque. They just fly by the other karts off the corner.
Peter De Bruijn and Michael Simpson (who are here) say they go 15-20 hours between rebuilds with no problems. Considerably cheaper to run if you want them to be. They are both completely sold on the concept.
KF IS coming! Will you be ready?

Based on that would you say KF2 is almost cheaper to run than a TAG Leopard (after initial motor cost)? |

We're one of those who was interested in running the new KF engines. An injury during the Rotax weekend is keeping us from running a KF engine this weekend. Hopefully by Ocala!
The engines look awesome on and off the track. We're believers. |

hehe no they don't. KF2s sit flat as pancakes, same as KF3 out of tight corners. they are all about mid range. KF2s get sucked up by everything out of a tight hairpin, and then the power valve kicks in and it's WAMMO. _________________ Karting1.com - Home of the most awesome karting stuff on the net. |
