Hello EKN viewers,

We at EKN hope you had a very Merry Christmas and are set to head into the new year. Before we do that, the WKA is heading back to Daytona Beach for the 2007 WKA Daytona KartWeek at the Daytona International Speedway. The Manufacturer's Cup Series and Road Racing Series will both compete at the historic facility while the Dirt Oval program runs down the road.

EKN will bring you full Trackside Coverage of the events at DIS with our fourm posting updates, daily reports and full results each day for both programs. While we will be based at the sprint track, we will do our best to provide updates during the racing hours for the road racing. We will travel down Friday morning and get settled in during the day and begin trackside coverage with the Man. Cup banquet that night. There is no timing during Friday practice so we will not have results but pit notes from the day.

Our overall coverage begins with our Event Preview and the Event Page to be setup soon. Remember, if you have any questions, please let us know and we'll track down the answer the best we can. Thanks.

No RFR for this event. We'll be hooking up with Charlie at other events on the year.

CIK 125 (light) - 14
WKA 125 (heavy) - 19
Stock Honda - 4

None of the top five from 2007 are entered yet in CIK 125 (Learnard, Dokken, Harper, Fisher, Hill). The four Stock Honda drivers I believe are from Woodbridge Kart Club area.

Rosemary,

We will have the top ten in each session from the WKA Man. Cup Series along with complete results once they are official. For the Road Racing, we will have unofficial results at the end of each day with some updates along the way for the larger classes.

I don't have the official numbers yet, but Controlled is looking to break 30 i believe, Sportsman is both over 20 for sure, PP Can is under 20.

Thanks David! Any idea on the Piston Port Pipe classes? Just curious since WKA changed the rules/motors for Yamaha Heavy/Piston Port Heavy.

Seems controlled is where it's at. Trying to make a decision for this coming season for which way to go. Piston Port w/ K-71 or jump to controlled like many are doing.

Scott: I don't know how many Controlled exactly there are but I would say "boatload" is pretty accurate. I was out in practice in my Sportsman kart and got buzzed by more reeds than I have ever seen at one event. Don't know how many Yamaha pipes there are either but I see quite a few Yammy guys in Controlleds this weekend. The Frys, Grindell, even Scotty Grenier. I'll try and get the class counts and perhaps top three posted here tomorrow night and Sunday as well. (Not trying to scoop you David. Just trying to help.)
