Can anyone confirm the rumor that Moran will be closing at the end of the month?

Not to confirm or deny, however, you should expect to see an official press release in the next day or two outlining the details.

At one point I believe it says that Mike Mautner is an idiot.

Do you think they are right?

Sad day, but I think we can all say a collective THANK YOU to Rocky Sr. and Jr. for setting the standard and letting us play with their toy while we could.

I'm sure that 7-8 years ago, when they sited the location, that they could never have imagined the industrial growth in the area - I know that I can't believe how quickly the giant buildings have sprouted.

Many great laps, many great memories, many great races! It couldn't have been any better. Colin and I want to thank the two of you for such a great place to come play!

Many thanks,

Eric and Colin

Andy,

I think you may have misinterpreted the article. I think it implied that Mike was suspiciously metro sexual.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

Well, that leaves Stars with a bit of a predicament. Any idea where they might relocate that race?

STARS is not scheduled @ Moran in 2008
the west races in 08 are @ Miller, and Seattle, with the combined E/W race @ New castle and the Finals in Vegas.
That DOES leave the 4 hr rotax enduro and the 1st GATORZ race of the Americas in a bind for January.
Tri-C will have to re locate two events and IKF region 7 will need to find a new location for their April race.

Region 7 is already re-scheduled to go to CalSpeed for a third race using the Nuovo Figure 8 course. Laughing
