Hello EKN viewers,
It's that time of the year...the Rock Island Grand Prix. The grand-daddy of street racing in North America is upon us once again. The streets of Rock Island, IL will turn into motorsports central 5pm Friday afternoon when the RIGP volunteers turn the city blocks into a racing circuit.
EKN will be there, both on and off the track as I will be running with Grand Products/Team Top Kart USA with the Wiegands. When not making laps in the TaG Masters sessions, I'll be updating the forum and posting daily reports Saturday and Sunday night. We'll have the preview story posted Friday morning to kick off the coverage of the event.
We have a poll currently running on the site - RIGP Poll - on who will win the SKUSA King of the Streets event, the headline class of the weekend.
Good luck to everyone racing this weekend. _________________ David Cole

Any one willing to share any Jr Supercan (3 hole) set up information. As first timers to RIGP, any starting point information would be helpful.
Thanks,
Kathy

If you aren't racing, just go for the race, the festival, and a good time.

DRIVE THE ROCK ISLAND GRAND PRIX
ON WAGNER KART RACING SIMULATOR
If you have always wondered what it is like to race the street course that the Rock Island Grand Prix follows, now is your chance. Wagner Race Products will have its Kart Racing Simulator as this year’s event. The simulator features a computer reconstruction of the Rock Island Grand Prix course.
The simulator has proven to be a valuable training tool for racers who want to keep their reactions sharp during the non-racing season, but it is also popular with gaming aficionados too.
For the Rock Island Grand Prix, Wagner Race Products will have a simulator set up on Saturday in the paid pit area and on Sunday in the Grand Prix Marketplace. For a fee of $5.00 you can drive the course and compete with other “drivers” for the top lap times of the day. Half of the entry fees will be donated to the Dispatch Goodfellow/Argus Santa Fund which helps out needy children and senior citizens in the Illinois Quad-Cities during the holidays. The remainder of the entry fees will go into a pool that will be distributed each day among the drivers with the fastest three lap times.
The more people who drive the simulator, the bigger the pool becomes and the more money are donated to the Goodfellow/Argus Santa Fund. Information on purchasing a simulator can be found on the website at www.wagnerraceproducts.com for more information on the Rock Island Grand Prix, visit www.rockislandgrandprix.com _________________ "Simulate to Stimulate" |

| We are in the process of installing a point to point wireless link to the scoring trailer to help facilitate David Cole's reports and live webcast Sunday by monksmedia.com . Hopefully all goes well, but it's one of the challenges of a temporary circuit. |

Afternoon everyone, King of the Streets qualifying just got over with Kyle Wiegand earning the pole position with Chris Kuenning clocking in the second fastest lap overall, running in the first group. Defending race winner Alan Rudolph was third with Sean Noonan and Curtis Fox rounding out the fast five.
TaG Senior is on track now. I'm running in TaG Masters so I will post some updates the rest of the afternoon while I have time. If you have any questions, post them. _________________ David Cole

Looking at the top of the page I see the Champion ad, but I don't see any Champion drivers in the top 10 in ICC. Must be some tough luck for them.
Glad to see Cody Jolly in the top 10. _________________ John Denman
