Anyone know of the events/orgs in New England that are shifter - friendly?
Thank You. |

You could run with NER SCCA too, they had an event at devins last weekend... cost much more for 3 runs... we usually get 5-6 runs for 1/2 the cost.
The Windham lot is our smallest for the year but it isn't too bad, it is a little rough but we do ok on it with our regular KT100 clutch karts

OK, so here comes the follow-up. The kart is a 125cc shifter honda. NER does not allow it at Devens, only at NHIS. Would a shifter be allowed at a parking lot Wihdham course?
Thank You. |

| I think it was "safety related" for Devens. |

| I am not sure on that. All I Know is that shifters are allowed in NHIS events only. I actually showed up at Devens 4-5 years ago and could not run. They do allow clutch karts there. |

and those clutch karts run in F125 if driven by adults... They allow the juniors to drive the karts too at Devins?
I checked the website, it doesn't say anything...

I just ran my KT at the SCCNH autocross at NHIS in the parking lot last Sunday. They didn't allow any karts until this year, but now do. I was in the 125 adult kart class. I don't believe they have any problem with shifters. I was the only kart there.
Also the SCCVT (Burlington VT) allows karts. I know they've run shifters there. I used to live there and ran my kart a few times.
I'm interested in the Cumberland events, at least the more southern sites. I have a superbox can and would like to change to a pipe along with decent autocross tires. I see that MG Greens are the most popular for tires. I don't know too much about changing to a pipe, however. Will I need to re-jet? Also, the New Hampshire club has a 95 db noise limit and they measured my kart at 93 db last Sunday. Is the pipe louder than the can?
Thanks

the pipe is quieter, you will need to richen your mixture a bit
you can run any kart with us and the can is not as loud as some cars, the sound is just a higher pitch and more obnoxious at 15000 + rpm
check our website for classing and rules. www.cumberlandmotorclub.com |

Daniel,
for July 22nd at Lewingston, what is the format, how many runs? What type of surface? How long a course? Do I need to preregister? cr125 shifter kart. Trying to figure out if I should go up there driving over two hours each way.
Thank You. |

nice lot for us, relatively new pavement. we usually get about 6 runs, lately courses have been open and flowing
you don't preregister. get there around 8 am to register and walk the course. reg closes at 9:30 after that late reg MAY be possible with an extra late fee
we gear for a max of 50-55 I expect that the shgifter would be quite a bit faster.
we run even and odd heats.... it will be evens first for 3 runs, then odds for three, then repeat. you will sign up and work one heat
I expect around a 50 sec course... |

How far are you willing to travel?
Both the Glen and the Finger Lakes region of NY allow shifters.
Here in Central PA Region, as well as Philly, Steel Cities, and WDCR are all shifter friendly.
