OK, Riley, thats way cool, but I ain't pushing no damn kart anymore. Now that you are a expert on posting pictures on E Karting, you can educate me, when you come down.

I know this is off your subject cause the kart I'm building is for the dirt, but
I have taken 2 ICA water cooled engines and mounted them on the right side on an LTO chassis.I swapped the cranks around to make a left & right hand engine. The engines drive from the center through a jackshaft.
The twins posted on here are slick ride

Just curious, but why would you want to mount the motors on the right? I would think you would want all the left side weight you could get. Or can you get more left side weight by moving the seat over? |

The driver weighs more than the motors...
You can have too much left side weight. |

Left side weight isn't an issue.I also have a set to Kt100 yamahas that are coupled together at the crank. They also sit on the right side. I've had to move them farther to the right over the last year to get the correct left side weight. The engines sit on a plate.the left engine is partly over the frame and the right engine is completely outside the right rail

| About 3 years ago Margay built a twin Leopard kart. They used a Brava 1.4 with 4 rear bearings.Never saw it,only pictures in an ad of theirs. Asked Keith if it was for sale? NO. |

4 -5 years back, when the Rotax Max was all the rage, many of the European kart manufacturers produced Twin engined versions for sale.
Solo, Sodi, F1, Devinsons, etc etc all had Twin Max karts for sale.
...but of course there was no series for them to compete in, so the novelty wore off pretty quick, and there are few seen today.
Some of these were also produced as "Tandem" passenger karts for demo days.
There is still a Twin Biland kart produced in France i believe.
And i have heard of a kart in Tazmania that has 4, 100cc reed motors across the back ! .......used for hillclimbing i believe. _________________ Chad

I think that some guy posted here once with pictures of a sprint kart with a RZ350 engine on it. That might make you hair stand on end, it you have some.

Chad,
Why don't you do a twin with your beloved Wankel engines. That might go alright.

Wow
Nahh !....hardly necessary, with 50bhp and enough torque to fry the rubber in standard form, and apparently plenty more deliberately "detuned" but available if needed.
Remember the earlier "Parilla Saetta" wankel came with 60hp as standard, and that has a lower capacity than the Aixro.
Anyway, i can't justify buying one at the moment let alone two
PS: i have just been reminded that Jade karts in the UK make a Twin Shifter ( 2 x CR125's) which they race in the 250 class in europe.
Maybe Riley has raced against it ?
( I must check out that shift mechanism !) _________________ Chad

I have a CKS Mach 1 Left-Right Twin Sprint with Open K-11s on nitrous leaning against my wall. Dismore made this kart into the late 90s. Buller also made a twin chassis with removable mounts. Nice piece. WE have lots of RZ350s and several unused karts so we're hoping Paul can build a twin RZ kart like the mockup here for the RWYB race at VIR. "Rules??? We don't need no stinking rules!!!!" Second pic down. Check out the turbo RZ on the way

Jerry,
The PCR chassis with custom CNC by BRC engine mounts will be ~$6000.00 CDN complete.....All you would do is drop your engines on.
Anyone else wanna get a special toy _________________ Riley Will

That's actually a great deal. And its hard to find anybody who does better work than BRC. Best part of a twin is the stereo engines. You have to do it yourself. It can't be explained. At low revs, driver can hear each engine distiinctly. But when they rev up the tune comes togeather right in the center of your brain. Don't get that with a Tag. Or an ICC or a CIK 125. If you've driven one you know what I'm talking about |
