I think you are pretty much on your own - I, too, have never seen a Conti kart tire in my life. You've bought them, so may as well get some practice with them, but I don't know where you could get any more.

You may want to give the Burris 44's a try, also. Based on our testing out here so far (very limited, I'll admit), performance and "feel" are similar to YHC's, but longevity may be better. Should be readily available for $150-160 per set.

I've seen them before. Never ran them so I can't tell you much about them but they are around.

Hi,

I ran them 15-20 years ago. They were nice then. Didn't know they were still around. I think I paid $12 each then.

I run conti rain tires, they look like a croos between an aqutread and a formula 1 rain tire. They work great!!!! Never tried their slicks.

I did not know that Conti is also offering them in the US.
I know them from my 'old days' in Germany - they're pretty dominant over there. Never had any trouble.

Robert,
Thanks for the link. Looks good. I think I'll try a set.

Glen,
any idea on the pricing from toremotorsports.com? they don't say...

Very Happy

If you've ever seen an air bag for a truck suspension, they look a lot like a kart tire.

Continental has about 30% of this market. It's 1000 times larger then the kart tire market.

Now if only these air bags were reversable.......

I have no clue about pricing, but give Charlie from Tore Motorsports a call. He should be able to help you out.

I emailed Tore but never got a reply so I ordered the tires from wholesalekart.com. The tires arrived within 3 days and were individually wrapped in plastic.

I ordered a set from wholesale on a Monday evening and received them on Friday, not bad at all considering I am in AZ. I will hopefully get to run them this Friday night and have two other drivers willing to put a session in on them as well. We will be able to compare lap times and feel in two shifters and a TAG. One shifter and the TAG are currently on MG MZ while my Kart is on MG FZ. If the feel is close then I know for a fact what kind of tires my Kart will be using in practice (we have a Spec rule for MG's while racing).

I have bought 3 sets now and use them as my practice tires..I'm far from a great driver ..but they performed as well as the Vega blues your club ran last year.I really saw no difference in my lap times.and they heat cycled well..I just ordered a set of rain tires because I plan on doing some street races this year were I may need them.. and got a set of slicks also w/shipping for 155.00 dollars..(BIG SALE)for 2 sets of tires that hard to beat these days...to bad the brand name is not that big in the US could save us all some money if clubs made them spec Smile .....Mike
