Hello EKN Viewers,
Here is your official discussion thread for this weekend's Group B opening round of the Florida Winter Tour presented by Tony Kart Florida. EKN's Rob Howden will be down in Miami to handle the mic duties and, depending on internet access, will be able to provide some live updates on Friday through Sunday.
Please remember to follow the EKN Forum guidelines. Thank you and good luck to everyone in sunny Florida. _________________ David Cole

Looking at the Pre-entry, I believe they were 24 and 26 for Pro Shifter and ICA, with both entry lists looking like a Stars of Karting Eastern division event. I didn't have a complete entry list so I wasn't able to post it, but Howden is trackside sometime today and will be trying to hunt down Tom for a complete entry list for all classes. _________________ David Cole

Hello all,
First, thanks to EKN and Rob Howden for a great job on covering the events.
Apologies to all as our attempt to provide true "live" on-line timing and scoring is proving to be more difficult than we hoped. Timing Guru's Tom Thelen and Angie Welfenburg are working with AMB to get some bugs out of our recently purchased Orbits 3 update. We are also experiencing problems with the display of "additional" data fields in the results that will show chassis, engine, etc, and also problems with the points portion of Orbits. Hopefully AMB will get these issues resolved quickly and we'll be able to provide even more results and points. We'll update everyone when those functions are available.
Thanks to Joey Gennari for giving us the best wireless network we've ever experienced at the event site. We've got superb on-site coverage. Remember, if you're on-site you can watch live timing and scoring with the RMon software found in the RESULTS / POINTS link at www.floridawintertour.com .
Thanks for your participation. _________________ Bill Wright

EKN Trackside Live: Satueday, January 13, 2007
Florida Winter Tour - Round #1 - Group B
Homestead Karting - Homestead, Florida
Good morning, EKN reeadership! We are now live from the scoring building here in Homestead for the first day of competition on this second weekend of Round #1. Coming off a stellar debut last weekend where the Rotax classes took centerstage, the Florida Winter Tour staff now has its first race of the year under its belt and this weekend promises to be yet another well-run affair. The 'spring training' moniker that has been tagged to this program comes into play today and tomorrow as all five Stars of Kartingclasses are on the schedule in ICC, ICA, Spec Racer, JICA and Cadet. There is no official Spec Racer class, but the TaG category opens the door for any Parilla, PRD or Easykart entries.
The paddack is again stacked with over 150 entries, putting the overall total for the two weeks at over 600, which represents more than 33% growth from the '06 average of 423 per race weekend. The division to two separate and ajojning race weekends has worked extremely well, with the second group of drivers arriving on Thursday and Friday, all set to kick off the new season.
Qualifying is set to go in just under 45 minutes, and we'll have the top fives posted to the site within minutes of the checkered flag. I'll have Tom Thelan update the complete results to MyLaps.com once all the sessions are complete for each round.
Enjoy the coverage and feel free to ask any questions you like. I'll see what I can do in terms of answers for you.
