Just got back from the last club race in Santa Maria Ca., what a great time we had!! James and his Wife Marti from Auto Pro Racing put us up in his place for our visit and fed us a nice Tri-Tip dinner with all the trimmings along with cold beverages! The race in SM was pretty smooth with very few problems, Frank Lowers took care of the race management and did a fabulous job. F200 was the largest class of the day with 10 entries and really pulled all the spectators to the fence, All I heard all day was how great it was to watch the roaring F200s!! We do have a bunch of pictures and a detailed race report coming soon so stay tuned.
Thanks to all the hard work from the nice folks at SMKA for a great place to race!

Todd,
Just looked thru all the photos you posted, looked like fun.
One question: does anyone in California race any engine besides a Yamaha? All the photos ( and from what I have read ) seem to say NO. At least around here we get the occasional Kohler and Honda to compliment the Briggs contingent
See you at KMI.

Trouble maker!
Just Kidding Dave, As you have probably figured out, The Yamaha has the largest following(shocker), their are a few Briggs out here(a couple of fast ones too ) then a couple of Hondas. I do encourage the other brands to step up and DO NOT discourage racers from using different powerplants. The growth has been pretty amazing out here and this year should really be fun, I hope to see all brands racing together, talking trash and having a good time in 2007! _________________ Hinton Motorsports

Todd,
You know me, I don't cause trouble, I just ask questions.
Do you get any Kohlers out there? Jeff Clements has a couple around here that really rock-and-roll. He also has a Honda he plays with occasionally, but in Jeffs case, he's a pretty good sized fella so he races for fun.
We gave the oval a try late last year on 2 year old tires. Needless to say we got our head handed to us on a plate. Would have been competitive if the rear wasn't trying to become the front in every turn. Maybe this year I'll get some new 55's and try the boys again. Jr won't be ready to race until June though.

Have only heard stories about the Kohlers at this point.. Im pretty sure they share a few similarities with the Yamaha so Im told. We are lucky to have James Weston at Auto Pro out this way, he has a knack for making the big power.
Maybe you will have to come vacation/race out in California and show us a thing or 2 ??
See ya in Chi-town. _________________ Hinton Motorsports
