|
|
We have started this thread to allow the EKN readership to post on the WKA Kartweek event which gets underway today at Daytona International Speedway. Please keep all the event discussion to this thread and refrain from over-using it as a congratulatory outlet. Our man David Cole is in Daytona and will be filing reports and results all week.
The 2006 season has begun!

day 1
Arrived at LAX at 10:30 pm for my 12:30am red eye to Daytona. Plane leaves at 2:20am. Arrive at Atlanta airport with 20 mins before connector to Daytona. Did my best OJ /Hertz airport run and get at the gate at the exact time it was scheduled to leave. Doors are closed on the walk way, the plane is sitting there and no body is at the desk. Denied. So I get on stand by for next flight. Denied. Check with desk and coudn't get a flight till next morning. Maybe.
Its now 8:00 PM and I made to the hotel. Missed all of practice.
All I had to do is rent a car and drive here. Only took 6.5 hours.
Oh by the way I will never ever fly Delta @#$!ing airlines again
Last year I left a day earlier and got to atlanta late (Delta) and missed my connector and had to stay the night and fly out in the morning. I got to the track at 11:00
Guess I shoulda learned _________________ Doug Fleming

Well, I had a more pleasant travel story than Doug. I was probably on the flight you missed Doug, 11:15 from ATL to DB????
EKN Headquarters - Daytona Beach - is all set to go after a nice evening with the NRRS banquet to crown the 2005 champions. It was a great event, and they capped it off with a unique ending (Photo coming in tomorrow's report).
I will have notes from today's practice in tomorrow's report along with the Day 1 results and photos. _________________ David Cole

Too bad I can't be there to race in HPV Heavy.
Oh well, good luck to everyone and I also wish good luck to all Margay team mates and tuners. _________________ #87 WKA Tony//Kart- HPV HVY

Was that really Eric Jones in TAG or his little brother Brandon??? Brandon has been racing the Manf. Cup stuff lately but Eric hasn't raced for several years....
Also...Was Lawson running his laydown(briggs set-up) in sportsman or the traditional sit-up style seat??? |
