I wish we could get more f-125's to show up locally and I would do it more.

Come to Detroit for a weekend. We'll have 6-10 at our local events this year assuming we have a site to play.

I have in the past considered going to BeaveRun for a 2-day weekend. Maybe I'll finally do that this year. If I do, I'll let you know and we'll play. Wink

Since Larry mentioned me above, I'll let you know that my motor (when set up for autocross) is more about top-end. It's not completely lacking torque, but I don't get down in the RPM much once off the starting line. Naturally, a peaky setup is not good for rain.

As for gearing, there's a point at which the shifts are so frequent that you're really not going anywhere. Spinning tires in 1-2-3 then staying in the 4-5-6 range for the remainder of the course. Downshift too many times for a corner and spin at corner exit... having very little acceleration in each gear = wrong choice. For autocross, I like it when I have some time in each gear even if I use fewer of 'em. The kart is much more driveable.

I've done some long-tracks (Gingerman once, Grattan 3 times) and Noah is right: it's all about torque there. Long tracks are fun! Check out the scheudle on the GLSKUSA web site (www.glskusa.com) if you want to join us at the above two long tracks this summer.
