| bought a used kart and need to extend the front porch.anyone know how far you can go.ill be running the cart at east lansing and in jackson,i beleive they are under wka rules.the kart is a2001 energy eclipse and it sucks to be6"5.I have to pay a fabricator to extend then rechrome the upper bar.the lowe bar is going to be repainted. |

| I have to do the same thing on all my chassis’s, but I’m the welder and fabricator. Instead of cutting the chrome bumper, you might try making new mounting tabs, and weld them forward of the old tabs. Leave the old tabs in case a future buyer wants the kart back to it’s original configuration. I’m not familiar with that chassis, so I’m not sure it would work. It would save you some money if it worked out. If my memory serves me right, the max length is 80" |

You might want to check the rule governing the distance between the back of the nose and the tire, I was thinking about getting a longer front porch for my Margay Limo chassis(they are only 2 inches longer than a regular kart) but I am already at the max distance(and I've heard that the further you get the overall horizontal center of gravity away from the dead center of the kart, the worse it will handle). BTW I'm 6'6 200#. I just have to race with my knees up! _________________ #0 Yamaha Pipe Heavy
