CalClub created a local class quite a few years ago for the TriHawk, a 3 wheeled vehicle (2 in front, 1 in back, pancake engine in front) that was also our series sponsor. I don't think 3 wheelers qualify for National rules, but for local I believe it was OK.

I do remember going to Grange for my first track experience (in Larry's kart if I recall) with a bunch of locals from SoCal and Vegas and Dave brought his 250. I didn't drive it, but I sure remember how fast he was passing me!

Just to wrap this up this thread…

From the December 2005 Fastrack, page F-313 in the bottom right corner ( http://www.scca.com/_FileLibrary/File/05-12-fastrack.pdf )

Code:
2. Karts: The following item, formerly in
Appendix G section III.A and inadvertently
omitted during the creation of section 19
for karts, is restored to Appendix G as sec-
tion II.A: "125cc shifter karts are the fastest
karts allowed."

As noted in previous posts, this is an insurance thing. Creating a separate class for F250, F250Heavy, F-Superkart, etc, is prohibited by this rule, even for adults, time only or exhibition.
