| Is there any reason I couldn't power my Drack from my Leopard battery? |

I don;t know anything about this for sure, but I would just have one concern, how clean is the Leopard power system? In terms of ignition noise, fluctuations, and the like. I know they have a reasonable size battery there to absorb most of the abnormalities, but higher frequency noise could be a problem.
Probably there isn't going to be a problem, but, when the designers sit down and figure this stuff out, if they don't have to worry about noise, they leave stuff out.
Just a thought. |

We've been using a simple system for both the Drack and EVO3 systems - RD car batteries from Radio Shack. Huge reserve power compared to the stock batteries, very inexpensive and easy to charge, and small enough to tie-wrap the the underside of the front panel or data logger tray.
Also, you need to look at the voltage requirement of the device under question - the EVO3 runs on 7.2V, so using the 12V from my starter battery would involve wiring in some type of transformer/regulator.
BTW - I sometimes use a fixed-mount helmet camera system, and do use the starter battery to power the camera (it runs on 12V). No evidence yet that voltage noise is a problem at all. |

| It will work fine. We have been doing it for several years with no problems. Lasts for days, not hours. |

BTW: I've been running the drack this was for the last three weekends.
Work great. |
