I talked to one of the participants Saturday night & so far all I have is heard is that the turnout was extremely poor. I was told that there were approximately 28 total entries with 9 in SP/S1, 9 in G1/G2 & the remaining 10 spread out in the other classes.

Maybe it was too expensive for most people to attend. Lets see, $225 for SP/S1, and $75 for a freshly mowed hillside to park on.....

SWRA gets more than 28 in just the fat & mostly old 125 class. But then again SWRA entry fee is about $75 and first 30 teams have to suffer with a covered garage with power and water at no extra charge.

ernie rathz
preston peebles
hunter gilespie
brandon marsele
this was the finishing order for superpro s1. the only superpro was aj whistler. i was running down the leaders with mishael abbot until i had motor problems. positions4-8 were all a big draft led by me and abbot. marsele set fast time by .002 sec over me. turnout was bad but the feild was of good quality.

In case anybody cares:

S2
Danny Robberts
Scott Siegel (ME!)
Ricky Elder
Greg Pafford

(Do we only post 4?)

Had a blast!

What were the final results of the first SKUSA Drag Racing Nationals???

Also, the pit spaces were more than large enough to split. I had a great opportunity to get to know a fellow racer by splitting the pit spot with him. $37.50 is much more reasonable.

Hunter Gillespie set pole for S1/Superpro with a 59.522 on his 2nd qualifying lap, backed with a 59.523 on his last (pretty impressive.) Many of the S1/SuperPro's went high 59's.

I don't remember how fast they went in the feature, but I would imagine it was at least 58.6.

S2 Pole was Danny Roberts with (I'm pretty sure) a 101.0. Fast lap of the race was (with LOTS of draft) 100.77 by yours truly. Followed VERY closely by Danny with a 100.88 (probably with less draft.)

Of interest (maybe); the data aq. showed 109.8 by myself, and 114.9 in the draft. Dunno, seemed cool to me.

I have heard claims of 93-102 mph. We average 94-96 mph on "good" days.
