I may have asked the question wrong. I read where someone said that a clutch cable from a honda motorcycle, possibly a CR500, I can't remember would work on a shifter kart. I was looking for the part number or which model it was off of.
Thank you

The CR500 cable will work. It is a little shorter than the standard kart cable, but is better quality than many of them. It is a direct bolt on a CR125 if you have a Trackmagic clutch lever, otherwise you have to cut off the end at the lever.

It is also a direct bolt on for a CTS lever too...

You may have read it from TKW, I was looking for a clutch cable. Out of the replies (whichc were appreciated of course none had worked I tried the CR500 cable, but it was the exact SAME length, the cable was to short. Actually, it made the run to the shifter but you had to modify the route to the ****er, thus there wasnt any way of getting a smooth, free route because no matter where it was ran, the cable would be binding because of it being short. My solution was (no smoothness, sticky) to by a cable cleaner kit. It's about $15.00, a little billet piece that goes over the cable and ya stick in your nozzle tube into a hole drilled out of the billet piece. Out came lotta, lotta black. Shot some non-greasless lube into the piece and the cable was silky again.
Just my clutch ordeal . . . . .

Uh, I think you misspelled "shifter".

I read a post somewhere about a Honda motorcycle clutch cable to use on CR125's. Any information or part numbers would be appreciated.

Would someone please explain to me why the CR 500 cable is being suggested? We have tried all the different versions of it, and they are all exactly the same as the CR 125 clutch cable. Please explain.

Don
It was suggested to me along time ago, and found out the hard way. I heard by more then one person that the cable route is long because of the larger bike (more frame etc). thus the 500 cables are longer. Ehhh WRONG!!!
Right then I learned a valuable lesson. Don't beleive everyone all the time!

| Heck, I just use $4.95, 6ft long mini-bike cable. Works just fine lasts all year! Just cut the ball off one end or the other. |

| Who ever needs a clutch cable, email me. We have them made just to fit perfect for a kart. All clutch cables from bikes are too short. |
