Pit spots for the Long Track Nationals are open to reservation. Pit spots are 10'x40',
$75.00. As always, first paid first served.

Be prepared with your credit card number, it's expiration date and the zip code of where the card was issued to you.

I noticed that also, if you go to the skusa page the data is results from 2000. I dont understand why there is a lack of presence of skusa in the Dixie/gulf region (no director etc.)with the exception of Fla.

The SKUSA dixie/south has a very large presence, although the website does not show it. The director is Robby Harper, a veteran long track racer. The dixie/south region had over 40 entries at the last event in Talladega, Whereas SKUSA Florida had only 21 entries at Jacksonville. The SKUSA Florida series is turning into more of a clutch kart event and loosing its shifter kart focus. K1 is dead in Florida at this time.

Interesting opinions to say the least... Although SKUSA attendace was down for the Jacksonville Event I don't think shifter attendance was outstanding anywhere that weekend. Even Savannah had hardly any shifters that weekend. Is that a loss of focus on shifter karts or are people saying it's too hot? Or maybe they are saying it's too expensive? Or maybe they just wanted a weekend off? I think SKUSA in Florida has always waned in the summer months. We are just spoiled because so many people come down here to race all winter.

Then in the summer only the 'hardcore' locals come out and play.

Nick, I have been racing the region for almost a decade, how long have you been in the sport? I do not wish to joust with you but I along with many feel the same way concerning these topics.

By definition they are clutch karts, nothing wrong with them. I just would like to see a focused shifter series. It is a SKUSA series.

Not at all I just do not feel the closed market approach the RM series has in the states is the way to go. There are some Rotax "servicenters" out there that are not even full time shops. Do you think I would send one of our motors to someone that has no motor building experiance?

Over 40 shifter karters showed up in Talladega the week before in the sweltering heat. Your too hot, too expensive, need a break theory does not hold water. Maybe Robbie puts on a better race? Open tires, fuel, no $75 pit space fee.

Hey guys, come to Texas and race. We had 241 entries at Texas World Speedway our last race, 70% shifter. big turnout of Yamahas, etc. The paddock was full with as many rigs and motorhomes as a two mile oval/3.0 mile road course can handle. Great fun!

PS: Free NASCAR garage space with electricity, first come first serve.

Count us in at Oak Hill & the Ranch this year.

Doesn't SWRA have enough money to buy insurance to sub-let pit spaces for a fee, or are they smart enough not to get tangled in this sort of liability nightmare?

Check "ask the president" I need to know a bit about motors for next year.

Sorry for the confusion. Apparently, Guido had 'cut-and-pasted' your original quote along with his feelings and replies. I misread it and then 'cut-and-pasted' the whole thing.

My misreading what Guido had misposted as an entire quote from you led me to believe that you were on both sides of the fence on all of the issues you posted on. That was the reason for my inital statement "Interesting opinions to say the least..."

Anyhow, you know I like the Max that's no secret. And I hope you also know I have aspirations of driving a shifter. That also I think has allowed me to stay away from the politics.

As far as the SKUSA Dixie stuff goes how many of those 40 drivers are actually SKUSA drivers? And I went to the Dixie/Gulf SKUSA region web site and I can't find any listings on points, drivers or anything else.

Hey guys, First of all Talladega has never charged for pit space. (unless a SKUSA National event is there) Sounds like SKUSA charges for pit spaces at Talladega! Furthermore our Dixie/Gulf region has grown big-time this year. As for our SKUSA point coverage you must go to
