Here is the information on the GAS GAS 250 from the company that is producing the ICE Kart specific version:
E 5000.00 (~$6500.00 USD) completely ready for the kart. Includes complete exhaust with Ti silencer, carb, C/S sprocket, and shift lever.
There is NOT 2 levels of tune. All engines come tuned for the ICE kart and ready to race.

If you are needing true information directly from the producer then use the above information. He is in Germany and is really wanting to support ICE KART RACERS. _________________ Riley Will

INTERNET: WWW.WIWA-RACING.DE

That comes to about $7900 without carb.
Now, I was going off my memory ( try your memoryout when your my age Riley), The $8000 grand I was thing of was the total price, and it was already converted to USD, and not still in Euros. I had copied and pasted the above into a file some time ago.
Not 12K, but not the 6500 USD you are stating he now has his priice at.
Not sure what you mean about two states of tune. Ask him if the portsing and also ispecifically if the transmission ratios are the same as in the Gas-Gas stock 250 egine as it runs on the motorcycle, or if transmission rations were changed for this kart version.
Like I said, I hope he update his website |

Charlie, I will tell him to be more clear on his website. What you are missing is that the price on the website includes their 20% VAT. Being in North America, you don't have to pay it So, we are both correct. I just had more information to work with. What do you think about that price? I do not know what it costs to built a CR or Rotax, but I have to think that the Gas Gas price is now competitive? Anyways, I think it is just another viable option for ICE. Personally, I like the idea of supporting manufacturers like GAS GAS that are building products specifically for karting. That goes along way! _________________ Riley Will

Charlie, sorry about not replying to the rest of your questions. The engine is not that same with respect to porting and probably transmission as the motorcycle engine at all. Internally it is totally built for ICE karting......Kinda beats sending your engine out to the tuner of the week don'tcha think? Anyways, I am not selling his engines just trying to pass on information for a friend. It now comes with a carb too! I think it's a good deal.
If anyone out there wants information please direct it to Manfred. His english is good so call him. _________________ Riley Will

Ah ha! Most Euro sites I check don't include the VAT in the listed price. Does make a bit of difference!!. He realy does need to update that site and make it a bit clearer...both the VAT and that minor detail of the carb now being included.!
At that price it would be competitive with other fully built ICE. It's right in the ball park with our 450.
BTW, RIley check out this page on his website:
Take ote of the chassis on which they picture a number of their 250 motors.http://www.wiwa-racing.de/Wiwa_/Motorenlieferant/motorenlieferant.html |

| Chris, your right about that and I think that is why most sites geared towards a true international market, not just Europe, show the price without the VAT already included. |
