Chassis for a taller driver, recommendations?

I'm shopping for a new 125cc shifter chassis, but have been warned to be careful (given I am 6'2" tall) to find one that fits. I have not had a chance to sit in one yet but like the Tony Mitox, does anyone that has one think a 6'2" person would fit in one. Or are there other chassis that are better for taller drivers? I thought that I needed a xtended porch I'm 6'2" as well I fit in a stock cts chassis very wel.

I would suggest the CRG Road Rebel with the extended porch I have sold a few of these to really tall guys and they fit great. If you want me to privately email you some photos I can just let me know.

KMAC...I know Scott Cheris is getting faster with every race...is well over 6'2". You may want to get with his dad Bob as hes the All-Kart set up man with the KNOW. Maybe if we're lucky Bob will poke his head in here. The All-Kart has worked very well for tall drivers Adam Sodano won the 2000 125 gearbox enduro championship and Scott has run very well this season learning more and more with every race...Hence his recent string of wins. I have a new All-Kart Shifter chassis still in the box at the shop you are at all interested.

As a former CTS dealer, I can tell you it's a great chassis for tall drivers / heavy drivers, but not at all for short drivers. For drivers much under 5'8", we had to use the CTS junior pedal kit which is another $150, and makes it kind of awkward. On the other hand, our driver from TX is 6'3" and fits the kart perfectly! I think the kart will accomodate guys (or girls) from 5'10" to 6'5" very easily. My kart weighed 182 lbs with a Honda 125. Also nice if you're heavy!

When you select a chassis that you like the work to alter the front porch to your height and your desired position is quite simple.

Some basic rules do not buy the chassis because you like the color. We cut off the factory front porch and front bumper and throw then away. I usually order the chassis with no bare metal and have it coated after we like our changes.

Find a local race shop who can bend and tig a new porch for the kart. It is about a two hour job for porch and bumper.

Get your seat position so that you achieve comfort. Do not be fearful of moving the brackets which support the steering. The same with the seat mounting brackets.

I have done this on all brands domestic and Italian and have improved every chassis as the driver was custom fit to the kart. When doing the changes make most of our decisions on the scales so that we get the front weight that we desire while achieving comfort.

I even make the foot box the exact same size and set the pedal positions exactly the same on the clutch kart and the shifter kart. Now the driver has the exact same feel in both chassis. Hand and foot positions are identical.

The bottom line is do not try to live with a kart made for a 5ft 8in driver. get creative, make it fit and then see how much better your performance can be when you fit.

I think the best thing is to try and sit in a chassis.

I'm 6'7" and I've gotten the extended chassis every since I was about 6'2".

They just make me more comfortable, which is easier to drive.

If you are looking at extended chassis. Don't forget the BRM chassis line.
