I don't know, filming in Montreal in November? Do they make tire chains small enough for karts, and can you replace a CIK nose with a snowplow attachment?!

Lets just hope it isn't another 'Driven' I don't think I could handle it if they race karts through downtown traffic, etc.
If it is done 'right' (lets hope) it could be a huge image boost for the sport. |

I've thought about doing a kart film myself. I have a bit of script but haven't had the time or the money to continue. I don't expect much from Hollywood when it comes to movies. Although this and the upcoming Senna flick could be interesting.
Hopefully I can start my movie next year ;-)

I do not mean to be critical but from the website it sounds like another Disney Bully story...
This kind of publicity only puts it in a "karting is for kids" type of limelight.
I hope I am wrong.

Well, folks -- By the sounds of the story line, this may or may not be the same film that has been in the works for some time now called 'American Racer'. We have been in touch with the film's producer for about 6-7 years now and are expecting a press release directly from him in the next week or so. The story line we have heard is similar but not the same, given that shifter karts are supposed to be involved in 'A/R'. From what I have heard, 'American Racer" will be a film that karting will be proud of. Keep an eye on www.e-KMI.com for a press release, soon. |
