Hi,
I haven’t read threw the entire post but here is my 2 cents.
Why did 100 cc karts go from 35 to 219? Less rotating mass, less mass quicker acceleration.
A 1.47 is a 1.47 but less rotating mass means less drag witch means more acceleration.
My thoughts

It was done for 2 reasons:
- Higher quality chain
- Finer pitch, allowing smaller increments between ratios

So, Pete, Kind of unrelated but would it be beneficial for me to convert my "Old School" KT100 from 35 to 219? Probably not worth the money. I would probably gain more by going on a diet...
If you really want to throw in an aditional calculation I also have a Jack Shaft setup that I am not using...

If you are ever in Chico, I have to say stop by the brewery and ask for a "sampler". Originally being from the Chico area I can tell you this is some "R&D" that is worth the time and investment! |

Ok guys, who knows about the factor call "rim pull" and its effect on on gear ration/diameters?
Yeah, there is a difference, but it is certainly not large enough for our usage.
Just hit the apex.
This is almost as good as the roll center thread.....

| I like racing against guys like you, you have to reasonout every little detail, why dont you use some practice time to try different ratio combinatons and time them with a STOPWATCH! on the track?, Sure works for me. Driver lies STOPWATCH dosen't. |

| Why don't you nuts use some of your test at the track time to test ratios? then you could know for sure. "stop watch never lies, driver always does" |
