A new huge facility has just opened in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta, Canada (about a 20 minute drive from Edmonton, Alberta)

It is called Stratotech Park and is HUGE.
There are 3 tracks within the track.
The Jr. track is 2,674 ft. long and 33 ft. wide.
The Shifter track is 3,937 ft. long and 33 ft. wide.
And the Formula car/sport bike/250 track is 5,790 ft. long and 33 ft. wide.
There are 94,000 sq. ft. paved pits.
A club house, a kart storage building for members, and a resaurant.
It has only been open for about 3 weeks, and is now closed for the winter season.
I do not own/run/work for the owner, but I was paid member #2. I think that this facility is one of the best in North America.
If any one wants to see any Digi movies of the new track just email me and I will be happy to send you them.
If any one wants to make a road trip up here next spring/summer - let me know, and I will do what I can to help out.

Wow! I wished we would build facilities like that down here. But that's ok, I figure it's only 33 hours and 2883K's to get there. Not sure about the miles, Yahoo! maps gave me the distance in K's!

Anyway, a week getting there, stop in at Yellowstone, a race weekend, and a week back, stop at Lake Tahoe, sounds like 2 weeks of absolutly great time!

If your gonna drive all the way to Canada anyway you better double it up. 2 and half hours south of Edmonton, Calgary has a 0.8 mile 11 turn, 32 ft wide, sprint track, that we've been running all year... its been awesome. Paved pits here also!

PS: I hope you have an ICC to bring!

Gary - If you at all serious about coming up here let me know and I will see what I can do to make sure you have fun.

Jake - Yes Calgarys new track is nice (I have driven it 3 times this summer) - but - this place is in a totally different league. (The club house building is over 100 yards long!)
You will have to make the trek to Oilers land and check it out next summer (the Oilers are our NHL team for the rest of you)

Warren, we cant even imagine competing with your guys facilities, there unbelievable, probably the best in NA for a kart track, i cant wait to get up there to try it out. Talking strictly track wise though i think we both have completely different things to offer. I think we have an awesome track as far as standard sprint kart tracks go, and ours is much more technical (from talking to people who have done both), but the track up there must be just awesome for shifter karts as it looks so awesome fast. I think Alberta is looking pretty kick *** as a place to go karting right now

Jake - you are right on with this one. Both tracks are great. The Calgary one is more technical (slower/tighter turns) And the Edmonton one is haul a** fast. It does favor shifters a bit more, but the 4 strokes just use the smaller version of the track.
Either way you are right when you say that Alberta is a great place to kart. The tracks are only 2 1/2 hour drive apart.
Now if we could put a dome over both of them so we could all race all winter - That would make life perfect.
