Does the Digatron water temp sensor WT-102 work on the Rotax Max? My concern is the fitting on the sensor that connects to the engine. I called Digatron, and the person I spoke with wasn't familiar with the Rotax Max.

If not, what about the CHT sensor SS102? It looks like you would need to machine the Rotax Max head a little to enlarge the area around the sparkplug for the Digatron CHT sensor to fit properly.

Otherwise, if the sensors for the CHT or water temp fit the engine properly, I understand the Digatron gauge will work properly.

The thread in the Rotax head is an 1/8" npt thread. Just buy a compression type fitting that is 1/8"npt to what ever size your thermocouple is. I bought a 1/16" od TC from Mcmaster Carr supply.

John,

Sorry, I'm a little confused. Is your fix for the CHT sensor or the water temp sensor?

Thanks for your help.

Charles

Sorry for the confusion. I was speaking about the fitting for the water temperature. You remove the plug in the head to install the fitting. I also forgot to say you have to drill out the body of the compression fitting to allow the TC to be in the water flow area. I have a Micron and it uses a Type "K" thermcouple. I bought a type K from McMaster Carr with the correct boynet fitting that pluged directly into the Microns pigtail. Hope this helps you out.
