| I've been noticing that the newest chassis out of Europe have a triangular design on both sides near the waist of the kart. This seems to be a trend. Can anyone comment of this purpose of this and why it seems to be working? |

It's not just Europe, we do it on our karts.
A. It looks cool.
B. It helps stiffen the chassis in the center where it is weakest. Which makes the chassis use the front and rear of the sections more, it's best to isolate both ends where the adjustments are. Also, we have been doing it for years but with smaller bars, they were called "K" braces and I think Invader still does it.

Mike,
It's also not that new. The CRG Heron (originally Daytona Heron, then Heron Plus, now Heron Evo) has had this design for more than 5 years now. This is the original chassis with the triangulated braces at the midsection. CRG has made minor updates to this design and in my opinion, the Heron is still one of the best chassis on the market.

Mike,
We have tried all of that stuff, we even tried ones that you could adjust them to be loose. We found that they were never in. Maybe some karts need um we dont.

We run Invader and Invader does have the k struts. Invader has the struts cut so you can clamp them or leave the clamp off. The advantage is more adjustability. I have run them on and off. I take the clamp off when I want more front grip and have the front lay flatter. I rather have more adjustability than less.

| i think it's mostly a trend, crg is the only good frame (in my opinion) do have this disign. i don't see any of the other frames with that disign doing that well in europe or in the u.s. for that matter. |

Well,
Iff you mean the triangulated waist forward of the mid cross member, both the Birel, as well as the Tony Mitox use this design.
Not sure of the success of the birel, though I know it has been successful. As for the Mitox, it was the 2000 World FSA champion and has propelled the Scott Speed/ JM racing to the top of the Promoto this year.
So, T Man while CRG is a great chasis, several others have used this means of stiffening the waist to good effect. I have no doubt that there are other quality chasis that have as well.
