I have a kali 125 shifter chassis, to which I have mounted a leopard engine. So far so good, but the radiator is giving me nightmares. How should I be mounting it? There appears to be a mounting tab in the "triangle" area of the seat mount, left hand side of the kart. I am guessing that is part of the key here...

My dealer is offering to fab up a quick peice to solve the issue, but it will require some measuring on my part and I want to make sure that I am looking at this the right way.

BTW, my kit did not include the bottom "elbow" that is listed in the manual to connect to the frame rail. Does anyone know if that is a recent change in the standard leopard kits? (Mine is a tube frame back with a mount tab)

Thanks,
Scot

BTW: If you are really bored and want to see photos, you can check out http://68.100.35.37:4567/kart/HTML/index.htm to see some stuff. Its not in any specific order and there are some unrelated pics on there, though the radiator is the first thing on the page.

Usually, there would be a "T" bar that goes from your radiator, to that tab. The vertical bar of the "T", would be at a slight angle, and is about 8 inches long. I get the room I need by using a piece of UHMW teflon in a 2"x2" block, and drill a hole through it, and use it as a spacer to get the radiator away from those seat uprights. You could also use a bunch of washers, or whatever similar you have, to get the spacing where you need it to clear the seat bars, and the left pod/nerf bar.
Also, the radiator will have a tendency to want to vibrate down to where it rests on the frame rail. You can use a zip tie to stop it from being able to do this, and or use something to protect the bottom inside corner of the radiator from resting on the frame rail, where from vibration, it will slowly put a hole in that corner, if you give it the chance. Very Happy

Get a 1 3/4 spacer and extend it out from the tab and it will bring your radiator out away from the seat. You obviously need a longer bolt and you wont have any troubles.I have the same chassis/motor.
