We are looking to attend the race in Austin TX. in June. I have not seen much activity concerning the Jr class. Any input on this would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Jim |

Are you referring to the Parilla Leopard Jr. 100cc tag class? I'm not keeping up, sorry. |

While the TAG Jr class has been slow to grow in the Region, I would expect this race will bring a few that don't normally run the Red River series. This event is one of the few karting events in the country designed from the ground up as a spectator event - its not just a race, its a show.
I might even have a sweet deal on an 80Jr package to rent to you if we don't sell it before hand.
We hope to see you there. _________________ John Denman

John, canyou elborate on what has been done to promote this event, or is there somewhere online that I can go to? I am interested in any new ways to promote karting events that are out of tht ordinary. Thanks. _________________ understeer happens on road courses and usually is pronounced with a British accent. Jim,
The weight is 320 lbs. Gearing is probably close to Denton, maye 1-2 teeth less on the axle. There will be a track map posted in the next day or two.
Chris, promotions go out in several ways. Magazine & website exposure is important, but there needs to be special features to make an event big. The Austin Grand Prix has most of the features that karters say they want;
Temporary course
Spectator freindly with promotion
Professionally managed
Cash awards
Geographically Central location
Visibility to Karting Media
Video
Promotions are very important. Budgeting for this event includes contracting PR firm to secure corporate sponsorship. The promo matreials are top notch, and there is a video in production that will be distributed on-line and via DVD/CD media.
Video has a huge impact. We average about 60,000 video downloads a month from our site. Television has the most appeal, but the cost of production and broadcast is enormous. TV productions also have locked timeslot that don't target a specific audience where webcasting is downloaded at the viewers demand, and does have a target audience.
In Australia, Geoff Mitton has done some excellent video production work, you may want to contact him. We occasionally trade video, and may grow this relationship this year. _________________ John Denman

We here at Champion have sold four Leopard Jr packages three out of the four are new Jrs that are racing at OMC. I do think there will be a good turn out for the Tag Jr class in Austin.
We will see you there
