I posted this on the Road Race board, but thought it could go here too.
A few months back there was a discussion on a TAG Enduro class. In that thread I said I'd keep folks informed.
I've responded to a few clubs with our rule package and information since that time.
The North West Gold Cup Tag Enduro class made its debut this past weekend at Portland, and we'll be running again this weekend at Pacific Raceway in Kent.
We had 3 of the 4 (that I know of) karts at the track. There were teething problems as can be expected in a new class/kart/motor combination.
I've only been karting for 18 months running in the Sportsman class. The reason I went to this class was, of course more power. But more importantly added reliability. We'll have to watch the rest of the season to see how that plays out for me. But an improvement over Mr Sticky my Yamaha motor will be much appreciated.
My comparisons are obviously some what limited. I am not the fastest Sportsman pilot, but to give a comparison, my best Portland lap last year was mid 1:28, nowhere near the fastest Sportsman, but respectable. Guessing on gearing my fast lap Saturday was 1:20.05 I believe this is a second or 2 quicker than the TAG sprinters run.
We have more gearing choices to try and more tuning to do but we were all encouraged so far by the results. _________________ I love deadlines. I love the swooshing noise they make as they go by!
