TAG USA recently Dyno tested all (or most) of the TAG Motors for comparison. I'd like to know if there is any source that has these graphs to veiw hp vs. torque for all of them. Mainly it is for curiosity to see how and where the power comes in at. Second, I'd like to see a Vortex Rox graph for it is most likely the motor I'll use.

I'd also like to hear what folks have to say about the Vortex Rox. I like the idea of a Rev. Limiter at 13,800- Longer engine life and more on the driver to work on chassis setup/dynamics. The self sustained ignition system-no battery drain/recharging sounds good. Your successes and/or failures using the Rox?

Thanks in advance! Smile

I'm not sure if the dyno plots are considered proprietory by SKUSA/TAG. I had heard that they were going to be posted on the TAGracing.net website soon, but as of today they are not available.

The ROK is a great torquey engine. The only thing I don't like is the huge exhaust/silencer and the overall weight. In terms of competitiveness with the other TAGs, the dyno results would indicate that on tight twisty tracks the engine will be up there with the best as the torque is only second to the Biland. However if the track has a large variation in long fast sections and tight twisties (i.e. large powerband needed) it is near the bottom of the pack. Note... I said in theory. Track testing is the only real gage. Very Happy

Jon.

The latest edition of KartSport had an article and graph for the ROK engine if you want to reference that.
