In watching the tradegy on TV early this morning, the news said that several people off the street in NY have been standing in line to give blood. In some cases they are standing right next to the victims being brought in.
There currently is a blood shortage in CA and I am not sure about the rest of the country. Many of us are too far away to help directly but we can all give blood to help the shortage as I am sure that the New York and DC areas will need extra and many areas of the country are already very low. If you feel helpless watching the coverage on TV and want to help this is a good way to do it.
