I will be visiting the 2001 RIGP labor day weekend Sunday only. Just wondering where the best action spot is and the favorite bar the racers hang out at. Would like to meet some of the Forum if possible.
A friend of mine (Scott Miller) (no relation to Marc, I think) who will be getting into a shifters next year wants to check out the pit action also. I quess what I am asking for is an invite to see you guys in the pits, do not really like to just show up un anounced an all.
E-mail me in private in need be.

Favorite karter hangouts seem to be Huckleberry's for pizza, and the Blue Cat Brew Pub. Also this year Rexie's Gourmet House (best steaks, etc. downtown), is staying open as late as needed to meet the needs of the racers. Any and all of the bars on the outdoor pedestrian plaza, along with the outdoor concert which begins at 9 p.m., are popular... as is the Casino Rock Island -- one block from the host hotel.
Most of the action is Friday night since everyone is tired and has a big race by the time Saturday night rolls around. We do host a Karter Party Sat. night with drinks and snacks in the second floor lounge of the hotel, and those who are going out sort of drift in and out from there.
