Alonso
Rosberg
Grosjean

Even the 2007 Alonso - Hamilton comparison isn't entirely fair. Lewis was as fast as Alonso early on when Alonso was basically doing all the car setup. Naturally, Alonso was a little pissed by this, and when he stopped sharing data, Alonso was suddenly quicker. Had they both been lef to their own devices all year, Alonso would be a 3-time WDC.

Alonso and Vettel are the 2 best right now - they're both "complete" drivers. Lewis may have the most raw speed, but it takes more than that. Button is very technical but has a little less pace. Kimi's just a bit off from the top 2. Then there's the rest.

Edit: Okay, another few minutes...I'll let anything in that's before the first car out. Stupid rain.

Yup I did, another 10 min...

Smile

PS, I could be crazy, but I am pretty sure I saw Alonso open up DRS when passing Vettel (or Webber?)

Just found this on the NBC Sports website:

NBC Sports Network will show the remainder of qualifying from the Australian Grand Prix at 12:30 a.m. EST Sunday morning. Live race coverage begins one hour later at 1:30 a.m EST.

Qualifying was interrupted due to rain after the first qualifying session finished. The session itself resumes at 11:00 a.m. local time from the Albert Park circuit in Melbourne, which is 8:00 p.m. EST.

----
I wondered how they'd deal with this - they have a soccer match scheduled when qualifying will actually happen which I'm sure they didn't want to bump.

Not a bad recovery for their first F1 broadcast - we can still watch qualifying before the race.

Tim

Gotta admit, Q3 was very entertaining. Redbull surely has a great car this year. Not only was Vettel fast as hell, but Webber was right there!

On a side note, the Ferrari's look much more stable than last year.

Hamilton is pushing that Mercedes very well, quite surprising actually!

All lining up to be a very entertaining first race of the season!

While the Iceman's lead at the end was respectable, I didn't see anything approaching dominance by any team. Hard to believe anything could be as wild and wide open as the first half of last season, but I think the podium will be pretty unpredictable for the first 3 races, and even the first 5 (as Monaco is such a different track).

McLaren has some work to do. Williams and Sauber probably wish that they'd just stayed home.

Very good race indeed!

I fell asleep around the 25 lap mark and I believe Vettel was still ahead at that point. When I woke up around lap 30 everything was switched around!

Good on-track battles, especially the one with Alonso and Hamilton. Cool to see Adrian "The Shank" Sutil putting in some serious work. Had it started to rain, he would've had that thing in the bag.
