What's the best way to bleed brakes?

Thank you everyone for your input, all good ideas to help. But one last question... Is there a proper sequence when it comes to which side of the caliper I should do first? Ie... Should I first bleed the side closest to the brake line, then the other side, or vice versa?

You want to shim the kart stand so the bleed screw is the highest point in the system so the air bubble doesn't get trapped. Doesn't matter which one you do first.

If the pedal is still soft, keep bleeding, air trapped in the lines will not rise to the top, it has to be bled out. Don't let the fluid in the MC drop down too much when you lift off the pedal. Sometimes you have to add fluid as you lift if you think it's going to suck air. Lift the brake pedal slowly to give time for the fluid to move from the reservoir to the cylinder.
