I'm trying to fox the jetting on a K9. The issue is part throttle. It lurches on and off power while trying to pick up the throttle mid corner to balance the kart. According to my data it's around 10k RPM and 30-50% throttle. I'm guessing I would be at much less throttle if it would run correctly. The motor pulls great up to about 14k and will run to about 14.7K Mostly I'm wondering which jets affect this area. The weather was what people were calling "good air" a nice 50-60 degrees. I have a kit with a lot of jets and tried many combinations today.

Main from 145-155
Emulsion 266 and 268
K22 needle all positions
K21 needle second from top

I didin't get a chance to mess with the other jets today and am sorry to say I don't know what they are. I'll have to check in the morning. Anyway...

What causes the on-off power at part throttle, mid corner? It sure makes cornering tough. Any ideas?

Thanks

I see you said you have data, are you sure your foot isn't bouncing around? What slide do you have in there? Have any of the changes you made had an effect at all?

Thanks for the help.

Absolutely positive my foot isn't bouncing. I finally got it slightly better by going from a k22 to a k21 needle at the lowest setting (leanest). It got better, but not fixed. No idea what slide, I'll have to check. I didn't know there were different ones. I'm just not sure if the on-off throttle is because of lean or rich. It's literally like someone is cutting the ignition for a quarter second and then turning it back on over and over...

Sounds like a rich condition.
