What height do these need to be at roughly to register for karts? I bought one cheap off of ebay to use at my local track (only magnetic currently) and want to know approximately how high I need to mount it to make it run properly. I'd imagine around the height of the IR receiver on the kart, but wanted to ask to get a definitive answer. Thanks in advance.

You should be fine if you mount it just above your front number plate.

Hey guys, just curious where I can buy a split lap IR beacon? Do they make them battery powered?

Just curious because it would be nice to have a personal one to set up at my local track for splits

I'm assuming you mean the beacon (white box that's transmitting to the kart) It has to be close to the height of the reciever on the kart. I hang mine on the fence next to the track 2-3' high any higher and it won't read and it's around 30' away from the kart.

Anyone know where to get the manual for this thing? The red light is intermittently flashing and I want to make sure the batteries aren't going dead or anything of the sort Confused

From what I have seen the blinking red light is just to let you know it is on.
