Everyone,
One of the guys here at the track just got his kid into a mini-rok and is having some issues so we're trying to do some research about getting, and keeping the kart running.
First off, what's the recommended fuel mixture to run in these karts using 100 octane pump gas? Should he run a different fuel?
His main issue is that the kart will just die out on the track, then restart after a few minutes. Battery is nice and full. We also notice that when it's idling there is quite a bit of air in the fuel line, almost like it's not constantly pumping enough fuel.
The lastly on the carb, there are two inlets that are open to the atmosphere, they almost look like vacuum lines that are open. Should they be open, or closed, or connected? _________________ 2012 CRG Road Rebel, Stock Honda Shifter

We use ms 98.. I am sure 100 octane is fine. Use between 5-7 oz of oil per gallon.
Ours died during a race as well. If the kill switch is hooked up from the engine and the battery drops in voltage or dies (or becomes disconnected) your engine will die. SO, I suggest not hooking up the kill lead. _________________ Stewart Willis |

There should be NO air in the fuel line - ever! You have something that's not sealing or your lines are too large (ID). _________________ Remember......it's not always the best arrow...but more importantly the best Indian. |

| Mini Rok by Vortex recommends 4% or 5.2 oz per gallon....you can see more specs at J3 Competition website. We round up and use 5.5 oz per gallon of VP's MS98L (octane rating of 96).... |
