|

Does anybody know if the brass fuel inlet fitting can be screwed out and replaced? mine is a 5/16 and the rest of the fuel system is 1/4. I'm pretty sure its Kehin PWM but now that i'm thinking about it i'm a little unsure
thanks |

I think the bulb looking end of that fitting is purposely oversized so it won't leak fuel. I know I have to cut off the fuel line because it gets stuck on there big time. If you go 1/4, fuel line won't fit as tight. Just a thought... I may be talking about something completely different. _________________ Randy

I get the idea, it worked with that cheap blue fuel line but i just got that braided Helix line and its super tight. mines a barbed fitting (3 barbs?) so it's impossible. maybe i should just get a 1/4 to 1/4 fitting and put cheap line to the carb and the Helix to the pump?
this is the line i bought;

Allan, also consider using a hair dryer to warm up and soften the fuel line just before installing it onto the barb/fitting... _________________ Ken Schilling

What's the point Brian, if it doesn't work better? _________________ A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to get its pants on. -- Winston Churchill. |

It looks cool and that's all that really matters. I've found that my kart is way faster looking than other peoples karts.

That stuff is great for pulse lines, that's about it. Give it a weekend or two when it gets rock hard, then you'll be swapping it for something else.
I would suggest next time if you want some good fuel line, buy either the Tygon, or the Silicone stuff.....

+1
The reinforced lines make sense where there is higher pressure or vacuum, and the pulse signal to the pump can make the normal lines change shape. For fuel line? I'd rather replace the cheaper stuff more often. |
