Well I thought with the 50mm stroke it would have a very strong bottom end and wouldn't have to use the L-2, nothing against the L-2, and could try to capture some of that top end hp... is this not the way to do it?? thoughts...

The L4 will give you useable power in a narrow rpm range. If your track has you going from 0 to 60 allot then you're going to be getting max power for a smaller percentage of your lap. What ever advantage the longer stroke gives you won't make up the difference on a sprint track imho.
I've seen the L3 on shorter tracks but they run a high clutch stall, long flex and are careful not to overwind the pipe. I wouldn't try it on less than a 1/2 mile course.
How's the build going, did you get it running? Just wondering if you've had any vibration issues using that crank.

My first set of cases were not machined very will in the bearing pockets, so the bearing would not go in and the cases were heated to 375. Im taking them in and getting rechecked at a real kart shop, CMC in tigard OR.

Hey sorry guys that this project isn't move along very fast, got stuck building two engines and a few races, I put way to much on my plate... should be back on it very soon. Its great to see the interest and some actually building their own as we go...that's what this forum is all about!!
My buddy's a Machinist and has too much money and too much time on his hand, so he is machining out Billet kt100 engine cases and maybe billet water cooled heads like the two part Rotax design, great for open classes or practice engines |

ARC makes a water cooled cylinder that fits right on the KT100.

Hey there Walt, I think the ARC head mates up with the waterjacket on the ARC cylinder, this would be just the head...
