New to karting, mainly recreational, but would eventually like to start racing, so trying to baseline.
Couple of questions for those who know about the KT's, as I am quickly learning that the curve is steep in this sport.
Currently running 4 hole Can on a Comet Carb/Engine (old lapping unit w/ out 787 markings). Came with the engine. Still has some life. Have a fresh 787 comet that I am trying to save for the future.
1.) Would a WKA Senior or older style "L" pipe increase HP w/o a lot of modifications? Is it bolt on or does the engine need to be built with this exhaust in mind?
2.) I am 215 LBS & 6'2". Think I have this clutch, would you recommend changing? http://www.cometkartsales.com/store/hrstman/hdc5.htm
3.) Can this clutch be "converted" from a 2 disk to a 3 disk?
4.) What size sprocket should I be running in the rear for MMX and CMP?
5.) Is there anything I need to be doing after I run the KT? ie, clean off the top of the piston? change plug, etc?
