Thanks Jim. I'll be on an 80 shifter at about 300-310lbs. No lead on the kart.

I ran Hoosiers back around 06 or so when they first got back into sprint racing. I ran them enduro racing in Tag for a few years.

One thing I did notice is that the bead on the tire was pretty stiff and they were harder too mount than Bridgestones. Had to get them pretty hot to get mounted easily. But the sidewall was soft.

My brother also ran the Hoosiers and I remember watching his front tires flex and sway back and forth at the sidewalls at Road America. It was crazy to see the contact patch stay planted, but the side wall flex back and forth.

I never noticed this or felt this handling wise on the kart. I did like how long the Hoosiers lasted though. They might not have been the fastest initialy, but they seemed to last twice as long for me. I did a lot of sprint practice on old sets and I thought they worked good.

I have been running MG Yellow's and Dunlops for the last couple of years and even Bridgestones. The Bridgestones don't seem to like the longer heat cycles compared to sprint racing. They seem to work better for me when they are older tires that I sprint raced with for a weekend. When I would put a new set on for a race they would be pretty slick toward the then end of the race.

The Yellow's were always good and one of my favorites. However I will be going back to the Hoosier's this year and trying this stiffer sidewall version. Even if the sidewall is softer I'd probably still run them due to how long they lasted.

The new Hoosiers arrived yesterday and almost sold out the same day. Same R60 marking on the side. I ll be testing the new construction on Monday.
