Thanks Ken,

As I wrote earlier - the fuel/oil is the common denominator among all drivers. I'm a metric guy so I have to go back and look at the Ratio Rite to see, but I am fairly sure that almost everyone, myself included, are using more oil than specified...

We did change to another brand over the season though as well as they changed to 110 octane. We are mandated to run Redline Oil.

You're welcome Andre.

I think that maybe we have found at least part of the problem...

Use no more than 6 ozs of oil per gallon.

Well yes let's see... I did run the specified amount of oil at some point - that resulted in two stuck and ruined cylinders. I was not lean in either case, just bad lubrication... Piston looked great (on the top) and was wet on top as well.

Fire your tuner. Laughing 110 won't hurt it should only help eliminate det and that oil should be fine at that ratio. If you all had damage than you all had to lean of a setup for whatever air was being ran in that we have no record of. Bump up to a richer needle, up the main, up the pilot then back off the timing if she blows again. If it's stock 99 it should run for 1000 years straight. Wink Remember it's just a pump, leaning on any pump can kill it and what you ran last week is not always what you can run this week.

I don't know what you call it when people leave one brand because of problems and move to another...

Andre,

I notice the head you show machined has two outlets and the one on the engine has one outlet.

What is the difference between the two?

Does the O-ring head take into account the water flow and restrictions that the was engineered by Honda when using a stock head gasket?

I'm also very curious about the design of the outer o ring groove. How will this affect machining costs vs a simply round groove?

My vote is to allow machining, it would be an extra way to make a buck on a Stock Moto class. Twisted Evil

Chris,

Corrected altitude at Sonoma last weekend was - 1000 ft to 500 ft, depending on the time of day.

Fuel system used by Pro Stock Honda Champion and Vice Champion is the GFS.

Fuel system used by the Master Stock Honda champion is also the GFS. Same engine builder for all three.

Hope this information helps with your diagnosis.

In "vice" I was wondering if you were a navigator or "co" pilot with someone much like rally has. It's been wonderful speaking with you.

Not intended to offend, but would "vice" suggest the first loser or there is someone better?
eg,
Vice President v President
Vice Captain v Captain
Vice Champion v Champion

Back to oil ratio, if you make a ratio of more oil in your mix, would that suggest there is less fuel in that mix.....meaning a leaner fuel to air ratio using the same jetting given all other conditions are the same?
Just saying, there is still a balance to consider there with oil ratio.

Anyway, take it to Swedetech, can't say I've heard bad things about the way their engines run.
