What are your opions on rib protectors. A guy spun in front of me this weekend and a cliped his right rear tire when trying to miss him, the seat did a number on my left ribs. How much room do they take up in your seat( mine is a pretty snug fit as is ) and what is a good brand to get.
Thanks guys |

I started with no vest and had moderate rib pain. I got a K1 and it helped but I still had some pain so I went to the Rib Tech carbon fiber and I really hurt myself. I came to learn that my ribs on my left side don't line up the way they should. The stiffer carbon fiber vest was the worst thing I could have done. It's not common but keep it in mind.

| I have the valhalla armadillo rib protector (didn't have the coin for the ribtect to be honest) and haven't had any rib pain whatsoever. |

| I use to run a T 11 Tillet seat, and had rib problems no matter what I wore. IMO, the Ribtect seat made me a believer out of me, never had a rib problem since.. |

| I use the armadillo full vest. It's a bit bulky but it strengthens my confidence and I never have any rib pain. |

It is a bit bulky, and the rib protector protrudes a bit in the back. This makes you sit a little bit further forward in the seat.
With that being said, I have not had an issue with my ribs until this past season. I attribue that issue to the seat position not from the rib protector.
Overall the Armadillo is a good rib protector for the price. |

The Ribtect3 vest or the original Ribtect vest is much thinner and more comfortable while providing a good feel for the chassis and providing plenty of protection to the rib cage.

The side protection on the armadillo doesn't take up much at all. As Nick mentioned, it's the back that you'll notice a bit of lost space. This is referring to the full armadillo vest. |
