Just from the sideline, compared to the 4 hole can,,,,,,,,,
more performance--faster lap times, slightly lower clutch slip, slightly taller gear, muchhhhhhhhhhh quieter.
Everyone seemed pleased.
I am sure when everyone gets home you will have more imput.

Lynn,

You wouldn't happen to know how many entires there were in that class would you? I heard second hand 20 plus, which would be very cool.

..

Total entree's for the event was 597 per MyLaps
Not down 25% (did not have 750 entree's last year)
Actually down about 25 entree's from last year

Only concern among us is what it takes to get 100% out of the pipe setup. Seems to be some secrets with the head and squish on the pipe setup. We felt we were slightly down on power compared to some of the other drivers.

21 Entries 2013 Sat
27 Entries 2012, Lite

23 Entries 2013 Sunday
26 Entries 2012 Heavy

Down a bit per My Laps... Must not have liked the Obama Pipe!!

Kyle It was preached that all you have to do was bolt on the pipe... No monies needed to spend on re-configuring the engine.. I knew that was a lie!! Been around karting to long to have beliveved that tall tale.. If they thought I was gonna believe that I have a bridge I want to sell them!!

We found the same on the 2 inch shorter KPP flex rule. It is just part of it. They are saving you money. A little dyno time, some track testing. Maybe send your engines back to your engine builder for needed updates. Now you can sell your ear plugs to offset any expense.

Seems like all forms of racing have this. I don't agree with their timing. I wouldn't want to have to change the bodies on a nascar team when they change model years.

From my count the entries were down fifty seven from last year with one more class this year. Maybe add the 34th class? Any ideas on it's name?

As per my previous post Mark, Pesek and Schneider bolted on motors with no previous practice and did quite well. You could have too if you weren't being such a Rebel. Smile

That was the first time they had that pipe on there karts, period!!

597 entries by my count, which is not a bad turnout and hardly a 25% decrease Jim. Last year was the all time high for entries if my memory serves me correctly, some classes were less, some were more, but it was a good event and a good turnout. Smile

You are right Patrick, on my first count I missed class number 29. It was only fifty seven less than last year. It was a good turn out. There was 588 at Kershaw last year.

Patrick....It is not about being a "Rebel" It is about creating a Fair playing field. If they would have told us by mid summer we were going to the pipe I would have had no problem with it. We build our own engines and a conversion like this for us could take months. I am putting a son through college and I can't afford an engine builder who all he does is figure out the best head angle/ squish/ carb settings ect in a 30 day window. It has to be done by us in house or we cannot afford to race against the highly funded teams. I like the idea of going faster it is just the out of pocket expences overnight I do not like. I am sure Dakota's and Olson's engine was not the same configureation as it was with the can. Not to mention the weather slowed things down sat. So the engines that were best matched to the pipe didn't even show their hand till sunday and then the weather was cold. So do we even know the whole story?
