Just wondering what will it take to get Karting included in the X Games? Anyone out there that has any insight in this?

More Monster Energy, flat-bill hats, and a better spectator experience. Maybe indoor/stadium racing where you can sit and watch the entire track from your seat?

And maybe a backflip! Not going to happen. In its current form it is boring for most anyone not involved in karting to watch. It's good racing, but that's not what people watch the X Games for.

Not extreme enough.

You can put kart racing in a football stadium it would be a slow tight course. Longest straight in a football stadium might be 360 feet. You need speed. A sprint course wouldnt work in my opinion.

You would need shifter karts and 250 Superkarts or laydowns going 150 mph on a road course for it to catch anyones eye.

Hmmm. Watch Travis do a double backflip or stand and watch karts drive by in one spot on a road course? I think you have it backwords. If it is going to work it will be in a tight track like the PRI show and no holds barred crashm and bashm. That might at least have a chance at holding someone's interest who just watched rallycross. Face it. Karting is fun to do, not fun to watch.

I can go to a carnival and watch bumper karts. Just saying that does nothing for me. Anyone can play that way.

I can watch that Isle of Man kart race time after time and say they are freaking crazy! How many guys will race this hard on streets going this fast?

Thats why its extreme the Isle of Man kart race.

Karting has never been a great spectator sport. We all love it 'cause we do it. People who don't do it don't care.

Flat-bill hats turned sideways... Rolling Eyes

I would assume it would have to be made unsafe somehow to garner any interest from people outside karting. Well, that and half naked flag girls. And maybe a giant, fluffy "Hot Seat" for the leader of qualifying. And perhaps ....

Don't forget tats. Lots and lots of tattoos, all over the body. One way to make it "bro" enough.

Ooh, that's another thing. Dubstep, or "Brostep" in this case, being blasted out of the PAs. Preferably, spun by a DJ wearing a Monster Energy shirt and a sideways flat-bill hat...and of course tats. All while smirking and making what seems like gang signs at the audience while playing.

That'll fit right in with the X-Games crowd.
